McKechnie Aerospace Fasteners Group
The McKechnie Aerospace Fasteners Group was formed from Valley-Todeco and Linread Northbridge, both noted for the uncompromising manufacture of maximum-strength, minimum-weight fasteners, studs, bolts, rivets and slot bearings for critical applications. Through the companies within the McKechnie Aerospace Fasteners Group, OEMs and supporting systems manufacturers have access to a valuable supply chain partner, capable of supporting operations in a way that enhances product performance and reduces cost of manufacture and support. The Fasteners Group is staffed with highly experienced engineers and equipped with state-of-the-art production and manufacturing technology - allowing it to provide solutions not possible by other manufacturing companies. Through a process the company calls Solutioneering®, the Fasteners Group supports customers worldwide with a wide range of technical and business solutions including ultra lightweight fastening systems, late configuration design, logistics management and industry leading lead times.
Solutioneering®: it’s how the business of aerospace evolves
Solutioneering® is the delivery vehicle of McKechnie Aerospace benefits, i.e. the fulfillment of opportunities through pioneering solutions in products and services to deliver the lowest possible cost of ownership. Through the McKechnie Aerospace Fastener Group, aircraft OEMs and supporting manufacturers have access to this unique process and can solve problems based on real world experience. The following is a brief description of the heritage companies within the McKechnie Fasteners Group.
Profile: Linread Northbridge
Linread Northbridge Redditch facility is unique in the wide range of aerospace fasteners it can design and manufacture from aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium or high temperature alloys. Boasting the shortest, most reliable lead-times in Europe, Redditch has developed state-of-the-art design, prototype, manufacturing and inventory management systems to provide first-fit for major OEMs including Airbus, BAE System and EDAS ¬– and in addition provides spare parts support for the world's existing airframes. Linread Northbridge Leicester's facility is the acknowledged specialist fastener source of choice for critical, high performance aircraft engine applications. Leicester offers an unrivalled range of approved externally threaded fasteners for aircraft engines. The company is one of the few in the world competent in the manufacture of these high performance complex parts, and is capable of producing them on a very short schedule. Industry-best lead times are further enhanced by participation in the Gold Folder scheme, where guaranteed lead times of 2 to 4 weeks are available on most of the products.
